ARGYRADES
Argirades is a large village located 33 km south of Corfu Town. The village lies on the slopes of a verdurous hill, offering lovely scenes to the surrounding area.
The architectural heritage of the village has its roots in the days of the Venetian rule with houses that reflect the strategic position of the area. Over the years, the village remains strongly involved in the cultural scene with many festivals and religious celebrations.
Agios Georgios
Argyradon beach
Agios Georgios beach is a long sandy beach situated in front of the homonymous resort on the south-western part of Corfu.
Agios Georgios is the continuation of Issos beach, with the only Mediterranean sand hills, the cedar forest and finally the exquisite Lake Korission which is the most important wetland on the island.
The beautiful settlement that lies around the beach is not that developed but it is known for the natural landscape.
The sandy beach is characterized by its shallow waters, a fact which makes it popular to families with small children who can play with no danger. It is well-organized with sunbeds and umbrellas but its main attraction is the tranquil and beautiful environment. In the region you will also find taverns, coffee shops and hotels.
This beach is awarded with the Blue Flag and you can find deck-chairs and parasols there. There is also a variety of sea sports.
